Integrated fax and SMS messaging has been added to Avaya Cloud Office for Microsoft Teams
Avaya Cloud Office has announced the release of integrated SMS and fax for the Microsoft Teams platform, which means that users can now send and receive SMS messages and faxes without leaving the Teams app. The SMS and eFax features are available on both Avaya Cloud Office embedded dialer and direct routing solutions.
This adds broader functionality to a Teams deployment, making it a complete communications tool. Users can now send and receive messages to contacts in the company directory or to an external number. SMS messaging means that users will have a unified inbox for all messages within the Teams app, as well as a unified business number.
Much like using a mobile phone, Avaya Cloud Office allows for MMS messaging, emojis, and attachments, plus the ability to search text messages by looking up keywords. Sending a fax is as simple as selecting a file from your documents or cloud storage and choosing a recipient in your contacts. No hardware is required; therefore, sending and receiving a fax via Microsoft Teams can be done from anywhere with an internet connection.
Users can keep existing fax numbers or set up toll-free business fax numbers within minutes. This number can also be the same that is used to make voice calls or send SMS messages.
