Boost Productivity in Large Format Documents Scanning

In large document scanning operations involving maps, blueprints, and technical drawings, scan operators often face significant productivity challenges. One major obstacle is the need for manual document handling, which creates substantial workflow bottlenecks. Once each scan is complete, operators must carefully remove the documents from the scanner bed. This process disrupts the scanning rhythm, especially when dealing with delicate or fragile historical materials. Furthermore, frequent manual handling increases the likelihood of accidental document damage, such as tears, creases, or improper placement.

QUESTION

Is there a solution or accessory for WideTEK scanners to collect and stack documents? The solution should be compatible with all WideTEK models and help maintain document integrity.

SOLUTION

Image Access has introduced the WideTEK WT44STACK-1000 stacker accessory, designed to address these challenges. Placed behind the scanner, this stacker can handle up to 200 documents (based on 80 g/m² paper) and accommodates documents up to 44 inches wide and 67 inches long. Not only does its design ensure that documents are collected and stacked neatly, but it also prevents wrinkles.

The WT44STACK-1000 stacker significantly enhances operational efficiency. By freeing up the operator’s hands, it enables continuous document feeding and uninterrupted job processing. Additionally, it is fully compatible with all Image Access WideTEK scanner models, providing a universal solution for improved scanning workflows.

MECHANISM

The stacker uses an intelligent sensor-based system that activates automatically when a document exits the scanner. Upon detection, the system gently extracts the document from the scanner using precisely controlled movements.

A key feature of the stacker’s mechanism is its adaptive technology, which synchronizes automatically with the scanner’s speed settings. This eliminates the need for manual adjustments or operator intervention. As a result, the integration is seamless, ensuring smooth, continuous operation throughout the scanning process.
